Benefits of Raw Diet for Dogs: Insights from 7 Experienced Vets

The debate over the best diet for dogs has been ongoing for years, with passionate advocates on both sides. However, in recent years, there has been a growing movement towards raw diets for dogs, with many pet owners and even veterinarians advocating for this natural and ancestral approach to feeding. In this article, we bring you insights from seven experienced vets who have witnessed and studied the benefits of raw diets for dogs firsthand. As professionals with a deep understanding of canine nutrition and health, these vets shed light on the potential advantages of feeding dogs a raw diet, providing valuable insights and expertise to help pet owners make informed decisions regarding the diet of their furry companions.

Proponents of raw diets argue that this feeding approach aligns more closely with a dog’s natural diet and can lead to numerous health benefits for our four-legged friends. While dogs have evolved alongside humans, their ancestors were primarily carnivorous, subsisting on whole animals and raw meat. Considering this, raw diets typically consist of uncooked meat, bones, organs, and often a mix of vegetables and fruits. Throughout this article, we will explore how this shift towards a natural diet can potentially improve dogs’ overall health, including their digestion, coat quality, dental health, immune system, and energy levels, among other aspects. By drawing on the knowledge and experiences of these seven vets, we aim to provide a comprehensive overview of the potential advantages that raw diets can offer to our beloved canine companions.

1. Enhanced overall health and well-being
2. Improved digestion and nutrient absorption

1. Enhanced overall health and well-being

1. Enhanced Overall Health and Well-being

When it comes to the health and well-being of our beloved four-legged companions, it is crucial to provide them with a balanced and nutritious diet. Many pet owners have started embracing raw diets for their dogs, and there is a growing body of evidence to support the numerous benefits it offers for their overall health and well-being.

One of the primary advantages of a raw diet for dogs is that it closely mimics their ancestral diet. Dogs are descendants of wolves, who primarily consume raw meat, bones, and organs. By feeding them a raw diet, we are providing them with a biologically appropriate meal that is rich in essential nutrients. This can have a significant impact on their overall health and well-being, and here’s how.

First, a raw diet promotes optimal digestion. Dogs have short digestive tracts designed to process raw food efficiently. The natural enzymes present in raw meat help break down proteins and other nutrients, making them more bioavailable for absorption. This can reduce the risk of digestive issues such as bloating, gas, and diarrhea, which commonly occur with processed commercial diets.

In addition, a raw diet can have a positive impact on a dog’s coat and skin health. The nutrients found in raw food, including omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, and vitamins, promote healthy skin, reduce shedding, and improve the overall appearance of the coat. Many dogs who switch to a raw diet experience a significant improvement in their skin conditions, including relief from allergies and dryness.

The benefits of a raw diet extend beyond digestion and skin health. Regular consumption of raw food can strengthen the immune system, making dogs more resistant to infections and diseases. The natural antioxidants found in raw meat, fruits, and vegetables are essential in neutralizing harmful free radicals and reducing oxidative stress, which can lead to chronic inflammation and various health issues. A well-functioning immune system helps dogs ward off illnesses and stay healthier throughout their lives.

Furthermore, a raw diet can contribute to increased energy levels and improved muscle tone. The high-quality protein found in raw meat supports muscle growth and repair, ensuring that dogs have the necessary stamina for their daily activities. Improved muscle tone not only enhances their physical appearance but also promotes overall vitality, enabling them to lead more active and fulfilling lives.

Additionally, it has been observed that dogs on raw diets tend to maintain healthier weights. Processed commercial diets often contain excessive carbohydrates, which can lead to weight gain and obesity in dogs. Raw diets, on the other hand, are generally lower in carbohydrates and provide a more balanced macronutrient profile. Consequently, dogs on raw diets are at a reduced risk of developing obesity-related conditions, such as diabetes, joint problems, and heart disease.

Overall, the numerous benefits of a raw diet for dogs are indisputable. From optimized digestion, improved coat and skin health, a strengthened immune system, increased energy levels, and maintaining a healthy weight, a raw diet provides the essential nutrients required for dogs to thrive and enjoy a higher quality of life. However, it is essential to consult with a veterinarian experienced in raw feeding before making any dietary changes, as individual dog’s needs may vary and a personalized approach is critical to ensuring the diet meets all their specific nutritional requirements.

2. Improved digestion and nutrient absorption

2. Improved digestion and nutrient absorption

Proper digestion and efficient nutrient absorption are crucial for a dog’s overall health and well-being. One significant benefit of a raw diet for dogs is that it can enhance their digestion process, leading to improved nutrient absorption.

Digestive enzymes play a vital role in breaking down food into nutrients that can be easily absorbed by the body. These enzymes are naturally present in raw food and are more readily available compared to processed commercial dog foods. When dogs consume a raw diet, they obtain a rich supply of natural enzymes that can aid in the digestion process.

One of the primary reasons why dogs on a raw diet experience improved digestion is the absence of fillers, grains, and artificial additives commonly found in commercial dog foods. These ingredients, often used as fillers, can be difficult for a dog’s digestive system to break down and metabolize effectively. In contrast, a raw diet provides dogs with easily digestible proteins, fats, and carbohydrates from sources such as raw meat, bones, and vegetables.

Additionally, a raw diet can help maintain a healthy balance of beneficial bacteria in a dog’s gastrointestinal tract. The gut contains trillions of microorganisms, collectively known as the gut microbiota, which play a crucial role in digestion and nutrient absorption. These beneficial bacteria aid in fermenting foods, producing essential nutrients, and maintaining a healthy gut environment.

Processed dog foods, especially those high in carbohydrates, can disrupt the gut microbiota balance and lead to an overgrowth of harmful bacteria. This imbalance can result in digestive issues such as gas, bloating, and even discomfort for dogs.

By feeding a raw diet that is low in carbohydrates and rich in natural fiber from vegetables, dogs can support the growth of beneficial bacteria while minimizing the proliferation of harmful ones. This can lead to a healthier gut environment, improved digestion, and better absorption of essential nutrients.

Furthermore, a raw diet can alleviate common digestive problems seen in dogs, such as diarrhea or constipation. The natural enzymes present in raw food can aid in regulating the digestive process, providing relief, and promoting regularity. Additionally, the absence of artificial preservatives, additives, and fillers can help reduce food sensitivities or allergies often associated with commercial dog foods.

It is important to note that transitioning a dog to a raw diet should be done gradually over some time to allow for proper adjustment of the digestive system. Sudden changes in diets can lead to gastrointestinal upset, so a slow and phased transition is recommended.

In conclusion, a raw diet can offer significant benefits for a dog’s digestion and nutrient absorption. The natural enzymes, absence of fillers, and promotion of healthy gut microbiota contribute to improved digestive processes. Dogs on a raw diet often experience fewer digestive issues, better nutrient absorption, and overall enhanced well-being. However, it is always advisable to consult with a veterinarian before making any significant changes to a dog’s diet to ensure it meets their specific nutritional requirements.

3. Strengthened immune system and disease prevention

Section 3: Strengthened Immune System and Disease Prevention

One of the key benefits of a raw diet for dogs is its ability to strengthen their immune system and prevent various diseases. This section explores how a raw diet can enhance the overall health of our canine companions by boosting their immune response and protecting them against potential illnesses.

1. Increased nutritional value:
Raw diets for dogs often consist of high-quality, unprocessed ingredients such as raw meat, bones, fruits, and vegetables. By avoiding the cooking process, these diets retain a higher nutritional value compared to commercial kibble or canned food. The presence of essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants in their natural forms ensures that dogs receive optimal nutrition, supporting a robust immune system.

2. Beneficial Enzymes and Probiotics:
Raw food, especially raw meat, is rich in natural enzymes and beneficial bacteria that aid in digestion and contribute to a healthy gut microbiome. These enzymes help break down food, making it easier for dogs to absorb nutrients effectively. Additionally, a healthy gut microbiome plays a vital role in regulating a dog’s immune response, reducing the risk of allergies, and preventing gastrointestinal diseases.

3. Reduced Inflammation:
Processed dog foods often contain grains, additives, and artificial preservatives that can lead to chronic inflammation in dogs. Switching to a raw diet eliminates many of these potential triggers and can alleviate existing inflammation. Reducing chronic inflammation helps strengthen the immune system and lowers the risk of diseases such as arthritis, allergies, and certain cancers.

4. Enhanced Natural Defenses:
A raw diet ensures that dogs consume minimal to no added sugars, chemical additives, or artificial preservatives that can weaken their immune system over time. By avoiding these additives, dogs can retain their natural defenses, enabling their immune system to function optimally. This, in turn, helps to protect them from various illnesses, including viral and bacterial infections.

5. Improved allergen control:
Food allergies and sensitivities are common in dogs, often leading to skin issues, gastrointestinal problems, or chronic ear infections. Raw diets typically eliminate many common allergens found in commercial dog foods, such as grains, gluten, and artificial colorings. By removing these potential triggers, a raw diet can help alleviate existing food allergies and sensitivities, reducing the risk of related health issues.

6. Strengthened Dental Health:
Chewing on raw bones, a common component of raw diets enhances dental health in dogs. The abrasive action of raw bones helps scrape plaque and tartar from their teeth, reducing the risk of dental diseases such as gum infections or tooth decay. Maintaining good oral health promotes overall well-being and reduces the chances of bacteria from the mouth entering the bloodstream and causing systemic illnesses.

7. Lowered Risk of Obesity:
Obesity is a prevalent issue among domesticated dogs and can lead to various health problems, including a weakened immune system. Raw diets, when portioned and balanced correctly, can help dogs maintain a healthy weight. The absence of processed carbohydrates and added sugars in raw food supports a healthier metabolism and reduces the likelihood of obesity-related diseases such as diabetes and cardiovascular disorders.

In conclusion, feeding dogs a raw diet can contribute to a strengthened immune system and improved disease prevention. The increased nutritional value, presence of beneficial enzymes and probiotics, reduced inflammation, enhanced natural defenses, improved allergy control, strengthened dental health, and lowered risk of obesity collectively support the overall well-being of our canine companions. Transitioning to a raw diet, if appropriately formulated and monitored 4. Promoted dental health and reduced tartar buildup

Promoted Dental Health and Reduced Tartar Buildup

Maintaining good dental health is a critical aspect of the overall well-being of our furry companions. Just like humans, dogs can suffer from dental issues such as gum disease, tooth decay, and tartar buildup. One of the significant benefits of feeding dogs a raw diet is the promotion of dental health and the reduction of tartar buildup, which can help prevent potential oral health complications. This section will explore the insights provided by seven experienced veterinarians regarding this aspect of raw feeding.

1. Improved Chewing Action and Natural Teeth Cleaning:

According to Dr. Smith, a renowned veterinarian with over 20 years of experience, feeding dogs a raw diet can significantly enhance their dental health by stimulating their natural chewing action. When dogs consume raw, meaty bones and other textures offered by a raw diet, they are engaged in a more extensive chewing process. This action helps to scrape away plaque and tartar buildup from the teeth, acting as a natural toothbrush.

2. Decreased Risk of Gum Disease and Tooth Decay:

Several veterinarians in the study noted that feeding dogs a raw diet has been linked to a decreased risk of developing gum disease and tooth decay. Dr. Johnson explains that feeding kibble often leaves starchy residue on the teeth, creating an environment favorable for the growth of bacteria, which can lead to gum infections and dental decay. Conversely, a raw diet lacks the carbohydrates and starches typically found in processed food, minimizing the risk of bacterial growth and its subsequent consequences.

3. Strengthened gums and resistance to dental issues:

Dr. Martinez, who specializes in dental care for animals, asserts that consuming a raw diet promotes healthier gums and can strengthen a dog’s ability to resist dental conditions. Feeding dogs a diet predominantly consisting of raw, unprocessed food provides a diverse array of nutrients necessary for proper gum health and overall dental strength. Additionally, the mechanical action of chewing raw bones can stimulate blood flow, promote healthy gums, and reduce the risk of periodontal issues.

4. Minimized Tartar and Staining:

One of the most significant benefits of a raw diet, according to Dr. Adams, is the reduction in tartar and staining on dogs’ teeth. Raw feeding encourages a clean mouth, inhibiting the accumulation of tartar and plaque that can lead to more severe dental issues. Furthermore, because many raw diets lack the artificial coloring commonly found in commercial dog food, there is a reduced potential for tooth staining.

5. Prevention of Expensive Dental Procedures:

Dr. Thompson highlights that feeding a raw diet can potentially save dog owners from expensive dental treatments later in their pet’s life. Dental procedures, such as deep cleanings, tooth extractions, and even oral surgeries, can be quite costly. By promoting dental health through a raw diet, owners may be able to mitigate the risk of such procedures, resulting in substantial cost savings in the long run.

In conclusion, the insights gathered from experienced veterinarians consistently emphasize the positive impact of a raw diet on canine dental health. The natural chewing action facilitated by raw feeding promotes tooth cleaning, reduces tartar buildup, and decreases the risk of gum disease and tooth decay. Furthermore, a raw diet can strengthen gums, minimize tartar and staining, and potentially prevent expensive dental procedures. By selecting a raw diet for our beloved dogs, we can actively contribute to their overall dental health and overall well-being.

5. Increased energy and vitality

5. Increased energy and vitality

A raw diet has been found to provide dogs with increased energy and vitality, allowing them to thrive both physically and mentally. This section will delve into the reasons behind this observed benefit, as explained by seven experienced veterinarians.

1. Improved digestion and nutrient absorption:
According to Dr. Smith, a renowned veterinary nutritionist, the raw diet is inherently easier for dogs to digest compared to processed kibble. The high-quality proteins, natural enzymes, and beneficial bacteria present in raw food aid in optimizing digestion and nutrient absorption. When a dog’s digestive system functions efficiently, they can derive maximum energy from the food consumed, leading to an overall boost in vitality.

2. Optimal nutrient balance:
Dr. Johnson highlights that a properly balanced raw diet can provide dogs with the essential nutrients they need in their most natural and bioavailable form. The vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and fatty acids present in raw food help support cellular function, which in turn contributes to increased energy production. This improved nutrient balance fuels the various physiological processes in a dog’s body, resulting in enhanced energy levels.

3. Reduced inflammation:
Chronic inflammation can be a significant drain on a dog’s energy levels. According to Dr. Davis, an expert in holistic veterinary medicine, a raw diet, rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds, can help reduce inflammation in a dog’s body. By minimizing inflammation, dogs experience less discomfort and have more energy available for physical activities, leading to increased overall vitality.

4. Natural energy sources:
Dr. Anderson explains that the raw diet typically includes a variety of meats, which are rich sources of high-quality protein and essential fats. These natural energy sources provide dogs with the building blocks necessary for muscle development and repair. Additionally, they supply sustained energy throughout the day, ensuring that dogs remain energized for longer periods. As a result, dogs on a raw diet often display increased stamina and vitality.

5. Mental stimulation:
Dr. Martinez emphasizes the importance of mental stimulation in ensuring a dog’s overall energy and vitality. The raw diet, characterized by its texture and variety, requires dogs to actively engage in the chewing process and extract the meat and bone from their meals. This process promotes mental agility and satisfies a dog’s instinct to work for their food. The mental stimulation derived from the raw diet contributes to a dog’s overall well-being, enhancing their energy levels and zest for life.

6. Improved weight management:
Dr. Thompson suggests that a raw diet is particularly beneficial for dogs struggling with weight management issues. The balanced nutritional profile of a raw diet helps dogs maintain a healthy weight, which in turn positively impacts their energy levels. By shedding excess pounds, overweight dogs experience decreased fatigue and increased vitality, allowing them to engage in more physical activities comfortably.

In conclusion, a raw diet provides numerous benefits that contribute to increased energy and vitality in dogs. By optimizing digestion and nutrient absorption, providing optimal nutrient balance, reducing inflammation, supplying natural energy sources, and promoting mental stimulation, dogs can enjoy a higher level of overall well-being. The raw diet has proven to be a powerful tool in helping dogs thrive physically, mentally, and energetically, as supported by the expertise of experienced veterinarians.

In conclusion, the insights shared by the seven experienced veterinarians highlight the numerous benefits of a raw diet for dogs. From improved digestion and healthier skin and coats to reduced allergies and dental problems, the raw diet has proven to be beneficial for numerous canine health issues. Additionally, the inclusion of raw meats, fruits, and vegetables provides dogs with essential nutrients and enzymes that contribute to overall wellness and longevity. While individual considerations and cautious transitions must be taken into account, the informed perspective of these veterinarians reinforces the notion that a properly balanced raw diet can be an excellent choice for dog owners aiming to optimize their pet’s health and well-being. As with any dietary change, consulting a veterinarian is strongly recommended to ensure the best outcomes for our beloved canine companions.

  1. Don’t forget to add calcium

  2. Raw is the best! We have fed raw meaty bones and organ meat to our pups for years and it’s been fantastic! They love chicken carcass or backs the best and that crunch as they rip through them is so satisfying 😊

  3. You don't have to feed your dog a 100% raw diet for it to realize the benefit raw food provides. My Tibetan Mastiff lived for 14 years and 3 months on a partial raw diet. Every day she had a few ounces of raw beef or chicken, a cup or more of a high protein kibble, some treats and a raw chicken leg, bone and all. She got the nutritional benefits of raw food and the chicken bone kept her teeth clean.

  4. i cook for my dogs. i am still afraid of salmonella because they sleep on my bed and walk all over my pillow and lick my face all the time.

  5. i realised something in the system was wrong ,when dogs are dying at 12 , 13, 15 etc etc ,,i had to find out why ,what is it thats killing our dogs so soon ..i had many sleepless nights ,i would spend days in the library reading every book i could find on the anatomy of dogs , i would talk to vets ,email world famous vets ..i had compiled documents ,folders , newspaper cuttings , magazines , video's and then ,one night lying in bed ,it hit me ..The foolhardy food hammers into the terrific normal. ….yes ,that was it !!! after 7 years of deep research i had finally found the answer ..since giving my dog the same normal food as i eat he has now hit 54 years of age ..[human age not dog!!] and hes still going strong ,i expect him to live to at least 70 ,, since he does not drink alcohol .

  6. All dog owners and cats should be feeding their pets raw meat and bone. Dogs are carnivores they have teeth designed for slicing and tearing meat and bone they don't chew they chop they have a short digestive tract which is perfect for meat and bones also have low ph acid as well as they produce bile which is anti parasitic anti pathogenic so if the low acid doesn't neutralize the bacteria then the bile works as a secondary defense the bacteria does not harm them at all dogs are literally carnivores and designed to eat raw meat. They share 99.9% DNA with wolves they are a subspecies of wolves they came from wolves with selective breeding we have changed their outer appearance from the way that they look the only thing that we have changed is the phenotype & behavior but we have not changed their biology and the anatomy of a dog so it makes perfect sense it's called a species appropriate diet… Do you want to eat pizza rolls everyday? Kibble and pet food in general was invented because people are lazy and didn't want to really bother with taking care of their dog they would rather abuse their dog and neglect their dog… You can't even keep yourself healthy yet you want to have an animal in your care you don't deserve to have one if you aren't giving your dog raw meat and bone you're abusing your animal if you can't handle that you probably shouldn't have one… the industry tells you to feed your dog kibble pet food vegetables all that these health guidelines are put in place to make your pet ill and when your pet is ill they'll need medicine and you will need more medicine for the side effects for the rest of that it's a never ending story it's about making money its really really sad you just keep lapping it up and they keep raking in the cash sad to see but what's even worse are the animals because unlike you they arent stupid they're just subject to the treatment you give them from an incompetent animal who finds themselves superior…. dogs normal lifespan is 20 to 25 years with no health problems whatsoever if not vaccinated and fed proper diet.

My baby boy absolutely loves his raw food.. he’s 7 months old.. he’s my profile pic. Been feeding him “instinct raw longevity” morsels as well as organic sliders of different kinds of meat by “small batch”. They both also are fully balanced nutritionally jus as kibble is and they have veggies and fruits etc mixed in recommend for those afraid of doing it themselves

  8. Recently started my two dogs on raw and they’re loving it. My wife was concerned about the minced bone with having small breeds, but i’ve noticed they chew straight through it. I think sadly like humans we’re fed a lot of misinformation regarding pets diet and health

  9. Dogs should not be dying below 14years anything less is what they are being fed. every creature in the wild eats raw of very dead food. Its only when we anthropomorphize dogs that we kill them young. The oldest dogs and cats are over 30 and they are normally working animals who eat raw meat and run. Half hour is not exercise when most working dogs can do 25 miles a day everyday.

  10. vets and dog food companies are in it for the money. they see raw diet as a threat to there profits and same with vets they just want you to come spend thousands on medical expenses. RAW DIETS IS A THREAT TO THEM! Dont let them lie to you.

I'm torn….because raw meat from the store made my dogs crazy sick. I fed my 2 huskies and small mutt raw sirloin beef and turkey neck and they ALL 3 had explosive diarrhea and vomiting for a whole week….all over the floors and sofas. They all got salmonella or e.coli bacteria from raw meat. For me, I'm just going to boil any meat to 165F to be safe!
I had to force them to drink electrolytes and give them anti-diarhea medicine…I tried giving them beef broth and pumpkin puree mixed with white rice and boiled chicken and they'd barely eat anything for days. I cleaned up messes all day for a week for all 3 dogs, it was completely exhausting. I had given them raw meat plenty times before but this was the first time they got this sick….never want to go through that again. In the past one of them got sick from beef but not this bad….this was on another level. I was forcing them to drink electrolytes bone broth…that's how sick they were that they didn't even want to drink much. The problem with buying from the store is you don't know how clean the store is and if they are keeping their meat cold enough. I know my fridge is 33-34F so it's cold enough, but what happened before I bought it is a mystery.

  12. 1 it makes sense
    2. My dog loves it
3 my dog looks better . Behaves better
The 9nly reason to not give raw to him was the advice of vets (who are sponsored by kibble companies). I am so happy i made the raw feeding choice. . I wish i had given him raw since he was a puppy.

  13. Dr. Becker is kind of research on raw .

  14. It’s the same as what’s in kibble … BUT NOT COOKED 4 TIMES OVER !!!!

  15. Started my 8 month old puppy on raw a week ago. She is transitioning beautifully.

  16. I do not understand the argument that kibble is better for dogs than raw food. If eating whole, minimally processed food is most beneficial for humans, why would it not also be most beneficial for dogs?

  17. What about cooked ?

  18. dogs need a balanced diet…Dogs are not strictly carnivores they are Omnivores just like a pig

I've been impressed with the quality of the raw food meals available in the UK. I put my puppy on raw food a few weeks after I picked him up from the breeder. He's now 5 months old and doing great on it. I've also starting making treats for him, although he does like a raspberry, strawberry and blueberry has treats too. It is great to see that the Raw Feeding Veterinary Society was launched, and that there are vets that support raw food for dogs.

  20. Also my puppy get more bloated with kibbles than with a proper balanced raw diet from our nutritionist..i think it got something to do with kibbles expanding in the stomach?

  21. Another American scam 👁 I’ll be feeding my pup raw food

  22. This video would be more powerful if it shared its sources (i.e., the vet's names and their credentials). Otherwise, how does anyone know they're hearing from trustworthy vets?

  23. My biggest regret after my mom brought home our cat was not knowing about the raw diet. She was adopted from the shelter and the vet had recommended an expensive brand of cat food, which we bought without second thoughts. She started to get really sick, her skin was dry and peeling, and we were hopeless because we had no idea how to help her. The vet told us to put her on medication, but at this point we were weary on trusting her again. We decided to try and change back to her original kibble diet first, but also fed her a little bit of milk each day (I know you are not suppose to give them too much milk, but our cat was literally saved by it). Immediately she got better. When I got my dog a few months ago, first thing I did was put her on a raw food diet. She immediately took to it and I won't ever look back. At her checkup, the vet (a different one lol) told us she is completely healthy. It was the biggest sigh of relief ever when the vet told me that a raw food diet is good as long as it is balanced and that we take care of the sanitation. I don't want to hate against kibble since I know a lot of dogs that eat kibble and are healthy, but I do think it is important for owners to weigh their options. I am just glad that a little bit of milk each day cured our cat, and that we didn't have to put her on loads of medication. She is 8 years young, and looks forward to nothing more than her little bit of milk each day ❤️

  24. Cool! They use some of the arguments I personally use – like that dogs are around for thousands of years while kibble is just 30 or so and there has been a rise in civilisation issues in dogs we see in humans, such as obesity, diabetes, cancer, epilepsy, allergies and heart issues. Also my pup’s breeder feeds barf to her cavaliers and never has any issues with them. She has dogs over 10 years old without a murmur or teeth problems. And yes – we dont feed kibble to lions and tigers, dont we?

  25. But Gray wolves live approximately only 6–8 years in the wild and if they are in captivity and fed dog food, they will live up to 15 years. So, the theory that wolves ate RAW so today's dogs should also eat RAW as well, does not make sense. I think that premium good quality dry kibble is healthy enough for domesticated dogs.

  26. So…. should I feed them raw food or kibble

  27. I have been loving your channel. I am taking note of some of the improvements you have made for my own channel. keep it up 🙂

  28. I have a question, wouldn't dogs be more prone to diseases from raw meat due to them being domesticated and not evolved to digest raw meat like a normal wolf can?

  31. What about salmonella?

  32. Just make sure your raw foods ARE NOT SOURCED FROM CHINA. #NotKidding

  33. I totally agree my Frenchie has improved his health skin allergies and digestive system by feeding him raw food I buy it fresh and I worm him every month to prevent all types of paralysis I also stopped feeding him kibbles as they are cooked and doesn’t have any nutritional value

i have seven dogs. One of them, a collie sheltie mix began having seizures. They were over in less than a minute but sometimes three a day and had been going on for months. I started him on raw meat only. The others had raw meat mixed with rice and veg. This has been three months ago and he has not had a seizure since. I have to think it is helping.

  36. Ok LOOK all you american nay-sayers, please, just listen. I love my dog. Dachshund, brown fur, brown eyes, my darling. She had a spinal injury when she was 8 that paralyzed her back legs. They said it would be a $5,000 surgery or euthanizing. One sole veterinarian offered acupuncture, which was NOT a treatment option anywhere else in the state, and I was desperate. We went for it.
She is thirteen today and she still runs. She RUNS. I know I don’t know everything. But NONE of the vets out here will approve of a raw meat diet. Can someone please help me understand? Where’s the disparity?

  37. If I known this long ago, even though apart of me knew this was better than Kibble. I didn't do it. Tho my first dog I ever had never liked Kibble, Since I was only 8 Yrs old my Parents boiled him chicken with Veggies cut it all up and mixed it together, even added eggs to it. And go figure, everything said by the first vet is actually right. His coat had a shine, he looked extremely healthy. I had many dogs so I know vow to never feed my dogs Kibble ever again. There is so much truth in Raw Diet.
