Caring For Your Senior Dog

In this video I cover four important things to make life a little easier for your senior dog. Those four subjects are wellness, cognition, comfort, and mobility.

Getting old sometimes just sucks. There’s no way around that and what makes aging so much harder for pet parents is that we don’t get to grow old with our pets, we have to watch them grow old before our eyes until they are gone. For those of us that are suckers for pain, we do this to ourselves over and over again with multiple pets throughout our lifetime. Okay – in all fairness, the pain is totally worth the relationships we experience with our furry four-leggers. In my opinion, knowing that I provided the best life that I could for my animals and that we had a mutually beneficial relationship is what makes getting through the aging and loss process bearable.

To help you as a pet parent get through the aging process as well, I’ve compiled a few tips to consider when it comes to caring for your senior dog. Clearly your dog did not find right the shoes you put on. No vet is right when recommend leash /lead/halti or muzzle. That is NOT a true human being nor a compassionate vet, period nevermind the knowledge that anyone interested can learn and Connect truly with animals.

  11. i have a 12 year old Chihuahua Pitbull mix, she was adopted from the shelter when i was 6 or 7, she is my retired service dog and gave me 8 years of outstanding service! shes in great shape for being such an old lady, she even runs around the backyard with my service dog in training! i love her so much

  12. already disagree with the start. Get carpets and yoga mats etc ! Don't put on shoes and boots all the day on the poor dog !

  13. My 13 year old dog still runs up and down steps like she is young.

  14. Thank you very helpful. My dog is 9 years old now a d and completely blind she is recovering from eye removal surgery. I want t to buy her glasses for when she is outside in the yard what kind should I get for her.

  20. Can you demonstrate brushing my dog's teeth?

  21. The background music with words is so distracting!

  22. Age is starting to catch up to my 13 year old buddy… its heartbreaking…

  23. I have an adopted senior dog who just turned 16 yesterday, we've been together since she was 8. It has definitely been a learning curve with lots of love, patience, and willingness to "listen" to her needs. The change in cognitive function has been immense and affects sleep, sometimes recognition of what should be familiar places, and brought some obsessive behaviors that she never had before. So, keeping her brain active with social activities and games has been critical to her health and happiness. I really liked your video and, from personal experience with Dori, I couldn't agree more! Thank you! ♡

  24. great video. My buddies are about 15 now and starting to decline.. these tips help allot

  25. Some handy tips for our 17 year old boy. We need to persevere with those boots
