Puppy Training: Mastering the Art of Potty Training

Welcome to BarkySupplies, where we’re dedicated to providing you with the most effective puppy training tips to ensure that your furry friend becomes a well-behaved and housebroken companion.

The Key to Successful Potty Training

When it comes to potty training your puppy, consistency is key. Using positive reinforcement and a structured routine, you can train your puppy to eliminate in the designated area in just a few minutes a day.

Effective Potty Training Methods

Here are some proven methods for potty training your puppy:

  • Use a crate: Crate training can help facilitate potty training by teaching your puppy to hold their bladder.
  • Establish a routine: Take your puppy out at scheduled times, such as after meals and naps, to reinforce good potty habits.
  • Positive reinforcement: Reward your puppy with treats and praise when they eliminate in the designated area.

Expert Tips from Authorities

According to the American Kennel Club:

“Consistency and positive reinforcement are key to successful potty training. Set a routine and stick to it to help your puppy learn where they should go potty.”

As per the Humane Society:

“It’s important to supervise your puppy closely and be patient during the potty training process. Remember that accidents will happen, and it’s all part of the learning curve.”

Useful Potty Training Tables

Below are some helpful tables to keep track of your puppy’s potty training progress:

Date Elimination Time Location

FAQs About Potty Training

Here are some frequently asked questions about potty training with expert answers:

    • Q: What do I do if my puppy has an accident in the house?

A: Clean up the accident with an enzymatic cleaner to eliminate odor and prevent future accidents in the same spot.

A: Watch for signs such as sniffing, circling, or whining, and take your puppy out immediately.

Conclusion

With the right approach and consistency, potty training your puppy can be a relatively quick and painless process. Remember to be patient, stay positive, and most importantly, have fun bonding with your furry friend throughout the training process.

Too bad you’re not closer to our home.

Thank you so much, I'm fostering a mom German Shepard and her two pups and can't seem to find their forever homes so I'm hoping this video helps me to potty train these lil puppies

  13. This doesn’t work with a small dog. They pee back to back to back even when I take him out every hour and after a nap, playtime, food water, etc. he can come back inside and pee again in 15mins… so what do I do about that? He is fine peeing or pooping in his creat, and is not grasping the concept at all to even try and hold it.

  14. Thank you for all your information 😉

  15. How you know the god got to go

  16. What about at night when I have to go to sleep. I have him sleeping with me and in the middle of the night he's crapping all over the place. I have never used a crate so if I have to do this he'll be crying all night and I still won't get any sleep.

  17. I work how do I potty train my puppy. He is an aussiedoodle and 5 months old. He goes on papers while I am at work. I keep him in a confined large area. But when I get home from work he is like crazy to see the cat and other dog and he is not focusing on being a good boy. We have a schedule for feeding. When i am home its harder .. so how old should dog be with the bell? I can do that lol He can do that.

  18. ?
My dog goes out and does nothing for one to two hours, then comes in and pees immediately.
    ? What do I do?

  19. My new puppy seems to hold. I took him at 8 weeks with 0 incidents. I am home all the time so I give a ton of potty break opportunities.

  20. My poodle I just got yesterday is 3 months old. He has only had two accidents, but I am taking him out 30 minutes after he eats. How can I get him more comfortable with the leash? He does not like it and I don’t want to tug him around

  21. Thank You this was very helpful first 24 hrs with new puppy. They used pee pads in a garage. Do you recommend those while training? Can you give me an idea what kind of bells you use. We’re keeping him confined to kitchen and entry where there are no rugs. Thank You

  22. Informative, thank you!

Is it good advice to limit water intake just to manage the amount of times it pees??

  34. I have to
    Train my dog

  35. Hi new to your channel. Thanks for the amazing tips. I just got my puppy yesterday at a dog adoption center. And she’s amazing and so cute. She’s an American pitbull/mixed and she’s 3 months. I’m creating a schedule that work best for her and me. Especially my work schedule. I’m in the process on getting her a crate so I can create a spot for her to sleep, eat and just chill. Quick question if I don’t have anybody at the moment to check on her while I’m at work. Should I take her crate outside while I’m at work? I don’t have a backyard. I have a patio balcony. I’m downstairs. So she’s on the ground and not high up. Right now I’m laying puppy pads on my balcony where she pees and poop at on a regular basis. She’s pretty good at going to her spot to do her business.

  36. Love the bell on the door!! Always thought of how to read my dog’s communication. Just rescued a tiny no-brand puppy from the roadside. Totally forgot how to potty train. Thank you so much. You Rock🤘🏼

  37. Cool Theo von

  38. As much as you enjoyed it, I did as well. You are looking forward to what is going to happen next, despite the fact that the picture and the writing are both good. Should you choose to defend this walk, it will be essentially the same each and every time.

I had a great time with that, too. Despite the high quality of the visuals and the prose, you find yourself eagerly anticipating what happens next. If you decide to defend this walk, it will basically be the same every time.
