Operating a vehicle under the influence: Smith Road
An intoxicated Cleveland man, 34, was arrested at about 1 a.m. April 29 after he was found asleep behind the steering wheel of a vehicle stopped on Smith.
The vehicle, with illegally tinted windows, was in front of Education Alternatives, 5555 Smith. The man smelled like alcohol and was confused regarding his whereabouts. He failed field sobriety tests.
Police learned that the man’s driver’s license was suspended. In his possession were two small bags of marijuana, a small electronic scale and two half-pills.
Animal attack: Sylvia Drive
A dog escaped from a yard, ran across the street and attacked another dog that was walking with its owner.
The incident was reported at about 1:30 p.m. April 30. The owner of the dog that was attacked said the other dog grabbed hers by the neck and wouldn’t let go.
A next-door neighbor of the attacking dog heard the commotion, ran outside and separated the two animals. The owner of the dog that was attacked was upset and showed police her pet’s injuries.
The owner of the dog that attacked told police that her son was home alone with their four dogs while she was away.
Arrest warrant served: Brookpark Road
A Cleveland man, 33, was arrested at about 4 p.m. April 28 after police stopped his car for a traffic violation and learned that he was wanted for cocaine possession in Olmsted Township.
Police had pulled over the man’s GMC Acadia on westbound Brookpark near West 130th Street because the license plate didn’t match the SUV he was driving.
Police turned the man over to Olmsted Falls police. The SUV was towed.
Theft: West 161st Street
Thirteen pallets of televisions were stolen between March 23 and April 26 from a locked trailer at Freedom Lines Transportation Inc., 5130 W. 161st.
A total of 156 televisions, valued at about $93,000, were stolen. Police were trying to obtain security video of the theft.
Criminal damaging: Snow Road
Someone broke a window in the former Brookview Elementary School, 14105 Snow.
It was reported at about 4 p.m. April 29 by a citizen who was walking his dog. Police said someone had used a piece of asphalt to break the window.
Sudden illness: Snow Road
A Cleveland man, 30, was taken from a car parked outside Dunkin’, 15800 Snow, to Cleveland Clinic’s Fairview Hospital in Cleveland at about 5 p.m. April 27.
The man had passed out in the driver’s seat of the car. A needle was in his arm. When police arrived, the man was conscious and breathing, but spoke incoherently.
Several hypodermic needles were in the car.
